2nd Session - Forum of Mayors 2026.

The 6th meeting of the United Nations Forum of Mayors will be held (in-person only) in Geneva, on 12-13 October 2026, under the theme "Cities Delivering for a Sustainable Future".

The Forum will bring together mayors from across the UNECE region and beyond to exchange experiences, share best practices, and adopt an outcome document reflecting shared priorities, emphasizing the essential role of local governments in delivering a sustainable future. Aligned with the 2026 session of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (New York, 6-15 July 2026), the meeting will focus primarily on the local implementation of key targets of Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), while also exploring the role of innovation and creativity in advancing sustainable urban development.
